In Loving Memory of Henry

It is with a heavy heart that I bring to you the news of the passing of our beloved Belgian draft, Henry. A very special horse, he touched many hearts during his seven years at Redbird Farm. If I was having a bad day, seeing Henry always made me feel better. He never turned down a hug either. I could barely wrap my arms around his big neck, and he would tuck his head in to touch my back.

Henry taught quite a few people to ride. Even the tallest of us could sit comfortably on his back, so he was ideal for long legged riders. But even the littlest kids loved to sit on Henry. He was good for beginners, a confidence builder for many, and fun to take to shows and even do a little jumping.

Redbird Farm will never be the same without Henry. They say that the best horses cross the rainbow bridge without tails. Henry has joined the tail free club there, and I have plenty of horse hair to make a lovely bracelet in his memory. Many thanks to everyone who has helped me get through this difficult time. You know who you are.

Redbird Farm is the perfect place to learn to ride.

Our small, quiet facility allows riders to focus on the horse and themselves without the distractions of a busy boarding or show barn. Whether you want to ride for a little "horse-therapy" or you have competition goals, this is the place to start.
